Five-day 'Joynul Utsab' begins today 

SONARGAON, NARAYANGANJ, Dec 28: The five-day Joynul Utsab begins on Monday at the Bangladesh Folk Art and Craft Foundation in Sonargaon Upazila of Narayanganj.

The festival has been organised by the Folk Art and Craft Foundation, the institution founded by Shilpacharya Joynul Abedin to mark the 111th birth anniversary of the maestro.

The formal inauguration of the festival will be held at the foundation's Lokaj Stage at 11:30 am on Monday. The chief guest, Director (Deputy Secretary) of the Bangladesh Folk Art and Craft Foundation, Kazi Mahbubul Alam, will inaugurate the event.

Sonargaon Upazila Nirbahi Officer Asif Al Jinat will be present as the special guest. A folk craft fair will be held at the festival, presided over by the foundation's Deputy Director, Md. Sakhawat Hossain.

Earlier in the morning, tributes will be paid at the bust sculpture of the Shilpacharya on the foundation premises.
The fair will remain open daily from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
