6 houses gutted in Munshiganj fire

Six tin-shed houses were burnt in a fire that broke out in Tongibari upazila of Munshiganj district early Sunday.

According to sources, the fire broke out at around 5:45 AM in Kachmalda area in the upazila.

Being informed, four units from Tongibari and Sirajdikhan fire stations rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control after about one and a half hours of efforts.

Munshiganj Fire Service and Civil Defence Station Deputy Assistant Director Muhammad Shafikul Islam confirmed the incident and said that household furniture and belongings inside the tin-shed houses were burnt and damaged in the blaze.

He added that the cause of the fire and the extent of losses would be determined after a detailed investigation.
