Putting an end to long-running speculation, popular singer Xefer Rahman and television presenter Rafsan Sabab are set to get married on Wednesday. The much-talked-about relationship in the showbiz circuit is finally reaching its formal conclusion.
For nearly a year, rumors about Xefer and Rafsan’s relationship had been circulating widely. However, both remained tight-lipped, publicly describing each other only as “good friends” in media and on social platforms. Known for keeping their personal lives private, neither chose to address the speculation—until now.
Sources close to the couple said the wedding ceremony will take place at a resort in Aminbazar, on the outskirts of Dhaka.
Family members from both sides, along with several prominent singers and actors from the entertainment industry, are expected to attend. Wedding invitations have reportedly been sent to close friends and colleagues over the past week. Attempts to contact Xefer Rahman for comment, however, were unsuccessful.
Xefer and Rafsan have shared a long-standing friendship, which gradually evolved into a deeper relationship and ultimately led to their decision to marry.
Speculation about their romance first gained momentum about a year ago, particularly after news of Rafsan’s previous marriage ending became public. The two were later seen together on multiple occasions, both at home and abroad. In mid-2025, photos of them together at Siam Paragon shopping mall in Bangkok went viral on social media, further fueling the rumors.
At the time, when asked about the speculation in an interview, Xefer said she had nothing to comment on the rumors surrounding her relationship with Rafsan. She also expressed frustration over public scrutiny, saying that people were already making assumptions about her marriage and children. “Netizens have already decided my marriage and kids,” she remarked, adding that she prefers not to share anything about her personal life publicly.
As the saying goes, “Where there’s smoke, there’s fire.” The long-whispered rumors have now been confirmed with the announcement of Xefer and Rafsan’s wedding, marking a new chapter in their lives.
