Panchagarh champions of TCL Men's Nat'l Youth Handball

 
Panchagarh claimed their maiden title in the TCL Men's National Youth Handball Championship 2026, defeating favourites Dhaka 36-23 in the final at the Shaheed M Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium in Paltan, Dhaka on Thursday.

Panchagarh dominated the contest from the outset and went into half-time with a commanding 18-9 lead. Dhaka, who had impressed throughout the tournament, were ultimately outplayed by Panchagarh's superior pace, fitness and tactical discipline. Panchagarh's Ratul Uddin was named player of the tournament.
 
Earlier in the day, Kushtia secured third place by beating Jashore 27-23 in the play-off match.  Most of Panchagarh's players hail from Tetulia upazila, where the district team coach Naimul Islam Rubel runs a handball academy that provides free training. The squad is made up of students and agricultural workers, developed despite limited resources. 

Rubel said, "Winning the title for the first time feels special."  After the final, Tanvir Ahmed, Managing Director of Tanvir Constructions Limited, presented the trophies as chief guest.
