PM pays tribute to Maulana Bhashani

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Tuesday visited the grave of Maulana Abdul Hamid Khan Bhashani in Tangail's Santosh, where he offered prayers in tribute to the veteran leader known for championing the rights of the oppressed.

After paying his respects, the prime minister attended a public rally and cultural programme held to celebrate Bangla New Year 1433, following an invitation from students of Maulana Bhashani Science and Technology University.

Earlier in the day, Tarique inaugurated the pre-piloting phase of the nationwide Farmers’ Card distribution programme across 10 districts.

He officially launched the initiative at 12:22 PM by pressing a button on a laptop during a ceremony held at Shaheed Maruf Stadium in Tangail Sadar upazila.
