Nasiruddin Patwary served legal notice over defamatory remarks

A legal notice has been served on National Citizen Party (NCP) Chief Coordinator Nasiruddin Patwary over allegations of making defamatory and offensive remarks about the Prime Minister and his daughter, Zaima Rahman.

The notice was sent by Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Public Prosecutor and Mymensingh Judge Court lawyer Advocate AKM Azizul Haque Khan.

According to the notice, Nasiruddin Patwary recently made objectionable and defamatory comments about the Prime Minister and his daughter, which allegedly hurt the sentiments of millions of people across the country. The sender of the notice also claimed to have been personally offended by the remarks.

The notice further mentioned that Patwary had made statements on his social media regarding the issue. He has been asked to submit a written explanation within 15 days clarifying why a defamation case should not be filed against him.

It also warned that legal action would be taken in court if he failed to respond within the stipulated time.
