PM gives housing grant to Rituparna

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has provided financial assistance for the construction of a house for Rituparna Chakma, one of the leading stars of the Bangladesh women’s national football team.

The Prime Minister handed over the cheque to her at his office in the National Parliament Building on Tuesday during a break in the budget session. State Minister for Youth and Sports Aminul Haque, State Minister for Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs Mir Helal Uddin, State Minister for Textiles and Jute Shariful Alam, and Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) President Tabith Awal were present at the event.

The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has previously extended support to Rituparna and her family.
