Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-2) Commander Naymul Hasan has said that anyone attempting to create unrest in the country ahead of 23 June, marking the founding anniversary of the Awami League, will face stern consequences.
He made the remarks on Sunday during a press briefing at the RAB-2 office in the capital’s Mohammadpur, following the arrest of five suspected muggers.
Naymul Hasan said that a clear message has already been sent to those linked with potential unrest around 23 June, urging them not to engage in any disruptive activities.
“If anyone tries to create a threat to us, they themselves will be at risk,” he added.
He also said that based on intelligence information, RAB arrested one Maura Sohel along with weapon. Following his statement, two more alleged muggers - Shafiqul Islam Sobuj and Russell - were arrested.
The RAB-2 commander added that Maura Sohel is an accused in 14 cases related to mugging and extortion.
