Brazil head coach Carlo Ancelotti has delivered good news regarding star forward Neymar, who has returned to the national team camp after recovering from injury.
Neymar suffered a calf injury while playing for Santos against Coritiba on May 17. As a result, he missed Brazil’s matches against Morocco and Haiti.
However, Ancelotti had been giving positive updates on the forward’s recovery since the Haiti match, raising hopes of his return.
Speaking at a press conference ahead of Brazil’s crucial World Cup group-stage clash against Scotland, the Italian coach confirmed that Neymar is fully fit and ready to play.
“Neymar is ready. He has trained very well throughout the week. His physical condition is good and he is capable of playing the full 90 minutes,” Ancelotti said.
While Neymar’s return has boosted Brazil’s confidence, there are still some concerns regarding team selection. The coaching staff are particularly assessing their options following an injury to winger Rafinha ahead if important fixture.
