Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) forecast moderate to heavy rainfall and thunderstorms accompanied by gusty winds in parts of six divisions, including Dhaka.
The forecast, issued on Friday, July 3, 2026, is valid for the next 24 hours from Friday morning.
According to BMD, many areas of Chattogram and Sylhet divisions, as well as parts of Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, and Barishal divisions, may experience light to moderate rain or thundershowers with temporary gusty winds.
In addition, some areas in Rangpur, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions are likely to receive moderate to heavy rainfall.
The weather office said daytime temperatures may rise slightly across the country, while nighttime temperatures are expected to remain nearly unchanged.
A low-pressure area over the northwestern Bay of Bengal and the adjoining North Odisha- West Bengal coast remains in the same region and may intensify further. The southwest monsoon is currently fairly active over Bangladesh and remains moderate to strong over the northern Bay of Bengal.
During the past 24 hours, the country's highest rainfall was recorded in Sylhet at 72 millimeters. Over the same period, the highest temperature was 36.5 degrees Celsius in Chuadanga, while the lowest temperature was 23.5 degrees Celsius in Nikli, Kishoreganj.
