Cox’s Bazar vibrant with tourists

COX'S BAZAR, Apr 2: Due to normalcy in the country's political field, the tourism sector of the district has remained vibrant in the entire season.
The local businessmen said, due to the continuing good days in the tourism sector here, other businesses are also seeing bright prospect during the season.
Though the tourism season here is about to conclude, the rush of tourists has remained the same like in the full season, they informed.
Sources in the Tour Operators Association of Cox's Bazar (TOAC) said, the tourists not only visited the se-beach but they were found roaming in Saint Martin's Island, Himchhari, Inani, Daria Nagar, Dulahajra Bangabandhu Safari Park, Sonadia and other tourists spots.
Founder and President of TOAC S. Kibria said, "The tourists coming from different places of the country visited all the tourist spots including Cox's Bazar sea-beach, Inani, Saint Martin's Island and Moheshkhali Island. But, the tourists mostly visited Cox's Bazar sea-beach and Saint Martin's Island."
General Secretary (GS) of TOAC Asaf-ud-Doula Ashek said, "The full tourism season starts in December when tourists in huge numbers visit Cox's Bazar. Normally, around 50 thousand tourists stay in Cox's Bazar but on different occasions, more than three lakh tourists visit here. Of those, the highest five lakh tourists visit Cox's Bazar during the Thirty First night."
GS of Hotel-Motel and Guest House Owners Association Abdul Kashem Sikder said, "More than expected tourists have come to Cox's Bazar this season. As a result, we have made much profit."
He further said, "Cox's Bazar is the 'maternal grandfather's house' to all the visitors. All of them show much eagerness to come here. The local people also show much hospitality to the tourists. So, tourists are now visiting here round the year."
Senior Assistant Police Super of Cox's Bazar Tourist Police Raihan Kazemi said, "A new era has surfaced in the local tourism sector this season. A total of 156 foreign tourists have visited Moheshkhali in two phases on a luxury cruiser 'Silver Discover'."
He further said, "The tourist police remained alert to ensure security to the visitors. Besides our patrol team is on duty to ensure safety o the tourists always."
