Bari Siddiqui's condition unchanged

Eminent folk singer and composer Bari Siddiqui is still on life support at Square Hospitals Ltd in the city as his condition has not improved.
Quoting physicians, Bari Siddiqui's son Sabbir Siddiqui said his condition was very critical. "He has been on life support since Saturday and our family members have decided to keep him on life support as long as possible," said his son.
Bari Siddiqui, who has been suffering from kidney-related problems for a couple of years, was admitted to the hospital at the night of November 17t after he fell unconscious following a chest pain.
Later, he was taken to the intensive care unit (ICU) of the hospital and put on life support.
The singer was born on November 15 in 1954. He got his formal vocal training at the age of 12 under Gopal Dutt of Netrakona. From 1981, he took lessons for six years under Ustad Aminur Rahman. He later got professional tutelage under VG Karnaad in Pune, India.
Bari Siddiqui earned his bachelor's from Dhaka University and joined Bangladesh Television in1985. He was awarded the BACHSAS Award for his music direction in the film, Srabon Megher Din (1999), for the song Showa Chan Pakhi. He released a folk album titled Lokhkho Tara in 2000.
