Return of abductees shrouded in mystery

The captors of North South University teacher Mubashar Hasan were divided over whether to kill him or not, before finally freeing him early on Friday. His return came just three days after journalist Utpal Das was found in Narayanganj, 71 days after his abduction from the capital's Dhanmondi area.  Moreover, a banker, businessmen and a municipality mayor were also found after being abducted. The million dollar question, however, we yet don't know who the abductors are and why mysteriously the said people had gone missing and then returned again?
There is no reason to believe that the missing people have returned because of the law enforcers' active and efficient operations, since not only on a single occasion the police could rescue at least one from their respective abductors. On the contrary, had the law enforcers been active and efficient in ensuring public security the series of abductions wouldn't have had happened. Additionally, given the amount of information provided by the missing persons returned -- our police and intelligence agencies have yet not been able to find a clue.
In the missing journalist Utpal's case, according to news reports, Utpal was dropped off by a microbus. Are the law enforcement agencies at all curious about to whom this vehicle belongs to or who the abductors are? The nonchalant behaviour of some law enforcers does little to instil public confidence in these agencies. In fact this silence on the part of the law enforcement agencies only serves to raise suspicion in the public mind.
Understandably, in the cases of the ones who have returned -- their abductors couldn't make up their mind what to do with them. But the racket that is involved in abducting innocent citizens is unimaginably skilled in hiding their victims for weeks and months. They are an organized bunch of criminals still remaining to be unidentified, isn't the police not realizing this fact?
What's missing in the police's end is a separate specialized branch to deal with abduction cases. A separate branch equipped with advanced gadgets and well trained intelligence officers should be soon formed.   
Lastly, there are many who haven't returned -- the police must launch a thorough investigation to rescue those missing persons while identifying the culprits. If needs be, the government should seek intelligence and investigation assistance from the Interpol and other countries. We don't want to see any more case of abductions.
