Bangladesh speedster Taskin Ahmed wants to start the new year with new hope forgetting the failure of the past year. In South Africa series he was out of form. He wants to bounce back in form with his natural strength of in-swing.
Pace bowling coach Courtney Walsh is yet to join the team. In his absence, former all-rounder and technical director of the team Khaled Mahmud is working with the boys.
After the practice on Saturday Taskin talked to the media. He informed that they are working to increase the control over bowling.
He said, "We are working on skill development. We are working on proper seam position and individual's strength like in-swing and out swing. We are working on how to improve the strength and increase accuracy."
"Sujon (Khaled Mahmud) sir is observing our accuracy through spot bowling. He also records video. The practice process is different," he added.
The year was not that much better for the pacers. They failed to explore them well in abroad. Taskin mentioned the pacers want to bounce back with the upcoming tri-nation series against Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe.
He said, "Truly speaking, we failed to do better in the last two series. Especially the pacers did poor in the South Africa series. Hope, we can bounce back in the next series. All are working very hard. They have the responsibility. That is why we hope for better result. "
Taskin was out of form in the South Africa series. The speedster thinks it happened because he focused more on out-swing.
He said, "We have been working with Sujon sir since childhood. He knows everyone's strength. My natural strength is in-swing. May be keeping my natural strength aside I work more on out-swing in South Africa series so I failed to focus more on main strength. Now I am doing that (working on in-swing). Sir is keeping my focus on that. Hope it will be okay."
In the initial squad of 32-player, there are 12 pacers including. So the competition is tough here. Taskin mentioned the competition of getting chance in the national side is always tough and he is ready to face the challenge.
He said, "This is not only for now, I always feel the challenge. Who are in the team all are skilled."
