Swarnali returns home

Fighting with a rare disease, Meherin Akter Swarnali on Wednesday returned her home after taking treatment from Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH).

Swarnali had to undergo for treatment since two months last at the Burn and Plastic Surgery unit of the hospital.

Dr. Afroza Naznin, assistant professor of Burn and Plastic Unit, said Swarnali was suffering from a critical disease named ‘Plexiform neurofibroma’, a disease originated from genetic complexity.

"The medication process of this disease is still critical worldwide and the success rate at the operation is very low. But we are giving the best effort within capacity," she added.

Swarnali, daughter of Abdul Mannan, resident of Tegatapara area of Borogachi union of Paba Upazilla, is a student of class III in Nonamatia Government Primary School.

While talking to journalists Swarnali expressed her good feeling following the operation.

The on-duty nurses of the ward said Swarnali was admitted to the hospital after the report published about her disease in newspaper on November 7.

She was admitted at Medicine unit-2 and later shifted at the Burn and Plastic Surgery Unit.

Ruma Begum, mother of Swarnali, expressed gratitude to the hospital authority for their contribution.
