College girl dies taking excessive alcohol

The deceased was Ritu Khatun (20), daughter of late Nekbor Hossain of Dashmari Purbpara Mahalla in the city.

Motihar police of Rajshahi city recovered her body on Saturday noon. Police assume that excessive alcohol talking caused her death.

Motihar Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mehedi Hasan, quoting the family members, informed that the honours second-year student Ritu was an addict.

OC said autopsy of Ritu's body was being done at the Rajshahi Medical College Hospital morgue.

The cause of the death can be confirmed after receiving the autopsy report. An unnatural death case was being filed with the police station. After receiving the autopsy report, next steps will be taken, the OC added.
