2 killed in Rajshahi road crashes

Rajshahi : Two people were killed in separate road accidents in Puthia and Godagari upazilas on Monday.

The dead were identified as Khokon Mia, 25, a trolley driver, and Kalu Sheikh, 28, son of Monsur Ali of Nachole in Chapainawabganj. Kalu was also a driver of a human hauler, locally knon as Votvoti.

Police said a brick-laden trolley fell into a roadside ditch in Boro Dhadas Dhalan area under Puthia in the afternoon leaving its driver Khokon dead on the spot.

In another accident, a chicken-laden votvoti plunged into a ditch at Sultanganj in Godagari upazila, leaving its driver Kalu dead on the spot.

Police suspect Kalu, traveling to Rajshahi from Chapainawabganj,  might have lost his control over steering due to poor visibility caused by dense fog.
