Rail official crushed under train in Rajshahi

Rajshahi : An official of Bangladesh Railway was crushed under the wheels of a train in rail-gate area of the city on Tuesday.

The deceased was identified as Altaf Hossain, 57, an official of the accounts section of Rajshahi Railway (West).

Witnesses said a commuter train from Chapainawabganj crushed Altaf when he was walking on the rail line at about 10am.

Members of Rajshahi Fire Service and Civil Defense recovered the body and sent it to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital, said Sayeed Iqbal, officer-in-charge of Rajshahi Ralway Police Station.
