Victim’s family threatened after they filed pornography case

A victim has been threatened by the accused to withdraw a case filed under pornography act in Bagmara of Rajshahi, alleged her family at a press conference at Rajshahi Press Club on Thursday evening.

 

Victim’s mother said a local pervert recorded her daughter bathing in her bathroom, and threatened to upload the video online unless Tk 50 thousand is not given to him.

 

The victim’s family filed a case under pornography act with the Bagmara police station against the person. Police arrested him along with the video and sent him to jail after producing before court.

 

“Recently the family members of the offender are threatening us to withdraw the case. They threatened us of dire consequence otherwise, for which we are feeling insecurity”, victim’s mother added.

 

Contacted, the family of the accused denied the allegation of threatening the victim’s family.

 

Nasim Ahmed, officer in charge of Bagmara Police Station, said, “We are looking into the allegation of threat, and if it’s a fact, necessary steps will be taken immediately”, OC added.
