Rape allegation against principal: Demo demands punishment

Local people staged demonstration on Monday demanding punishment for the principal of Kapashia Vocational Technical School in Rajshahi on allegation of raping a girl student.

 

The demonstration was held for an hour blocking Rajshahi-Dhaka highway in Kapashia area at 11:00am while all the vehicles were stuck in a long tailback due to the demo. Motihar Police talked with the demonstrators and took the situation under control.

 

The students of the school and locals alleged that principal Johurul Islam Ripon Recently raped a girl of the school while taking her with him in the name of giving scholarship’s money.

 

The principal denied the allegation and said a group of Awami League activists is acting against him. The family of the girl also denied such incident.

 

Motihar police officer in charge Mehedi Hasan said, “We will talk to the students as well as the authority to take necessary steps.”
