Rajshahi : Law enforcement agencies have strengthened security measures in the district ahead of the verdict against BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia.
RAB and police have set up check-posts at different points of the district including the metropolitan area on Wednesday to search the people.
Police, however arrested 23 BNP-Jamaat activists during special drives. Of them, four arrested from metropolitan area, 12 from the district and seven from Charghat.
Ifte Khayer Alam, official spokesman of the RMP and senior assistant commissioner Shibir men Rumman Khandokar, 24, and Ashik Hossain, 25, JCD activist us Abdur Rauf alias Milon, 27, and BNP activist Abdur Rashid, 40, have been arrested from the metropolitan area.
Distrist police in different drives, detained eight BNP men and four Jamaat activists.
On the other hand, Charghat Model police held seven BNP activists inclduing Charghat poura BNP organising secretary Mominul Islam on Monday night.
