2 bodies recovered in Rajshahi

Rajshahi : Police recovered the body of a woman and a man from Puthia upazila on Monday.

The dead were identified as Salma Khatun, 19, daughter of Abdus Salam of Dhananjaypara in Puthia union; and Mokhles Ali, 45, of Nakulbari village in Jeupara union.

Families of both victims claimed that they have committed suicide, said police.

Puthia police OC (investigation) Rakibul Hasan said Salma tried to kill herself taking poison on February 8.

Later, she was admitted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital. Salma was taken to her father's house on Sunday where she died.

Being unable to endure his prolonged illness, Mokhles Ali allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself.
