Housewife dies after being burnt in kitchen

A housewife died in a kerosene stove blast in Rajshahi on Tuesday morning while undergoing treatment at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.

 

The deceased Shanta Khatun, 20, wife of Ashiq Reza, was resident of Bilshimala area of the city.

 

Ashiq Reza’s brother Rubel Hossain, also injured in the blast, said Shanta caught on fire on Sunday night while she was cooking on kerosene stove.

Both of them were rushed to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.

 

Hafizur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Rajpara police station confirmed the matter.

 

An unnatural death case was filed with police station in this connection, the OC added.
