General students of Rajshahi University have sent a memorandum to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina demanding reform of the existing quota system in government job recruitment.

A representative group of RU students gave the memorandum through Rajshahi deputy commissioner on Monday.

The demands mentioned in the memorandum are: reserving 10 percent quota instead of 56 percent, recruitment from merit list if there is no eligible candidate in the quota, quota advantage in job recruitment not more than one time for a person, there should be no any special recruitment test to fulfill quota and fixing the same age for the job.

Earlier, on Sunday, RU students formed a human chain on the university's Paris road demanding reform in the quota system in government job recruitment.
