Husband killed for seeing wife's illegal relation

Police has revealed a death mystery of Puthia Upazilla in Rajshahi, after two and a half months.

Touhidul Islam, 24, husband Tahmina Khatun was strangled to death by wife and her boyfriend as he happened to see his wife involved in illegal relations. To hide the fact, his wife and her boyfriend termed the death a suicide.

But the autopsy report revealed that it was a murder and the police came to know the main incident when they interrogated Tahmina. Three people were arrested in this connection on Monday.

The arrested are Tahmina Khatun, wife of Touhidul Islam, Sumon Ali, 24, son of Momin Ali and his brother Sujon Ali, 25, of Chakdomadi village in the upazila.

On December 23 last year, Touhidul Islam, son of Taib Ali of Chakodamadi village was found lying near a tree in his mango garden. Later, police went to the spot and sent the dead body to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital for autopsy.

At that time, an unnatural death case was filed with the police station. But since death, the family member claimed Touhid was killed.

In the autopsy report, he was stated to be strangled to death and there were injuries on his body.

On Monday, Touhid's uncle Syed Ali filed a murder case with Puthia Police Station against the accused after 2 months of the incident.

Puthia Police Station Officer-in-Charge Sayedur Rahman said 3 people have been arrested in connection with the death. Two of them have been sent on a 10-day remand through court and his wife Tahmina Khatun is being interrogated with the police.
