Technical students protest at sexual assault

Students of Kapasia Metropolitan Technical and Business Management Institute staged demonstration on Rajshahi-Dhaka highway on Sunday morning in Rajshahi over sexual assault of a female student.

Police have arrested Zahirul Alam Ripon, principal of the institution, for his alleged involvement in the sexual harassment and a probe body was formed on February 6 to investigate the matter.

Local people also joined the road blockade and human chain programmes around 10:30 am in the morning. Protesters from the demonstration demanded justice and punishment for the accused principal.
