Ilyas, son of late Idris Ali of Kanaipara village, is a former acting commander of Puthia Upazila Freedom Fighter Command Unit.
According to the GD, on March 9, Nazrul Islam Yahya, resident of Kanaipara village, entered into Ilyas' home along with his son Nazmul Hossain Sumon, brother Sayeb Ali, Mahatab Ali and hurled abusive words and tried to beat him (Ilyas) over a land dispute.
They also threatened to kill the victim, the GD said.
