Man beaten dead by cousin

A man was beaten to death allegedly by his cousin over killing baby duck in Paba upazila of Rajshahi district on Monday morning.

Deceased Siddique, 38, son of Abdul Karim, was a driver of battery-run van and a resident of Baghata village, said RMP Airport Police Station officer in-charge Razibul Islam.

A baby duck of the cousin, Abdur Razzak, died under the wheel of Siddique's van in the village around 9:00am. Following the incident, Razzak's wife locked into an altercation with Siddique.

At one stage, Razzak engaged in the altercation and beat up Siddique mercilessly with stick, leaving him dead on the scene, the OC said.

Police, later, detained Razzak's younger brother and father in this connection but he and his wife managed to flee.
