Human chain formed to save Padma

Environment activists on Wednesday formed a human chain in Rajshahi city demanding the protection of the Padma River.

‘Bangladesh Poribesh Andolon’ (BAPA) and ‘Rajshahi Rakkha Sangram Parishad’ jointly organised the human chain at Shaheb Bazar Zero Point around 11.00 am which was followed by a rally.

Chaired by BAPA Rajshahi district president Jamat Khan, the rally was addressed, among others, by Fazle Hussain Badsha MP, Rajshahi city Awami League (AL) general secretary Dablu Sarkar, district AL vice president Badiuzzaman Rabu, acting president of  Rajshahi Rakkha Sangram Parishad Dr Abdul Mannan, Workers Party city unit secretary Debashiws Pramanik Debu, Jatiya Party Rajshahi city joint secretary Salahuddin Mintu, environmentalist Mizanur Rahman.
