Housewife's body found on river bank

Police on Monday morning recovered the body of a housewife from Khorbona River bank by Rajshahi city.

Deceased Meghla Begum, 18, was the wife of Subhan Ali, a resident of the area in the city, said Boalia Police Station officer in-charge Amanullah.

Quoting family members, the OC said mother-in-law of the victim informed her parents that she had committed suicide around 5:30am.

But the housewife's sister Chumki claimed that her sister was tortured to death by in-laws, the OC added.

The body was sent to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital morgue, said OC Amanullah.
