Plane crash victim Akhtara Begum buried

US-Bangla plane crash victim Akhtara Begum was buried in Rajshahi  on Tuesday morning.

A resident of Upashahar area in the city, Akhtara Begum was buried at Gourahanga graveyard after a namaz-e-janaza held.

A pall of gloom descended in the area after the body was brought here from her Chapainawabganj village home around 9:20am.

But, her husband's body could not be brought from Nepal due to identification problem.

Akhtara Begum and her husband Nazrul Islam were among the 69 passengers of the US-Bangla Airlines aircraft that crashed and burst into flames at Tribhuvan International Airport in the capital of Himalayan country Nepal on March 12.

At least 49 people, including 26 Bangladeshi nationals, were killed in the accident.

The first janaza for the victims was held in Nepal while the second one was at Army Stadium in the capital on Monday.
