Woman's body recovered in mango orchard

Police has recovered a female dead body from a mango orchard of Durlovpur village of Puthia upazilla in Rajshahi on Tuesday morning.

The deceased was identified as Rokeya Begum, 40, daughter of Somez Mollah of Roghurampur village of Puthia. She worked in a daal mill in Baneshwar market.

Puthia Police sub-inspector Saiful Islam said locals informed the police after seeing the dead body lying in a mango garden of Abu Bakkar of the village. Then police recovered the body including a vanity bag.

Sayedur Rahman Bhuyian, Officer-in-charge of Puthia Police Station said the body has been sent to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital for autopsy. The cause of death will be known after the autopsy report.

An unnatural death case has been filed over this incident, OC added.
