Truck kills betel-leaf businessman at Tanore

A betel-leaf businessman was killed as a truck crashed him at Buruj Ghat area under Tanore upazila of Rajshahi on Wednesday noon.

The deceased was identified as Noor Ali, 55, son of Ashiqullah of Lasirampur village under the upazila.

Rezaul Islam, officer in charge of Tanore Police Station, said a truck crushed him in the middle of road and he died on the spot while Noor was heading to Mohanpur Upazila on his bicycle to buy betel-leaf.

The truck left the scene immediately after the incident.

Later, police recovered the body and handed over to the family. Police were trying to catch the truck and its driver for legal action, the OC said.
