A housewife was found hanging in her house in Puthia upazila of Rajshahi district on Monday afternoon.
Deceased Sree Babita Rani Pal, 22, was the wife of Ratan Pal, a resident of Palpara village, said Puthia Police Station officer in-charge Sayedur Rahman Bhuiyan.
Family members of the victim spotted her hanging with a sharee in her bed room at noon, quoting family sources, the OC said.
Being informed, police went the scene and sent the body to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital morgue.
Police came to know that the victim committed suicide due to family poverty, the OC added.
However, an unnatural death case was filed in this connection.
