Once upon a time the carriage of horse known as Tomtom was the only transport in Rajshahi.
About one and a half thousand Tomtom were seen to circulate in the region. But now the picture has changed through evolution of communication system.
Rajshahi District Administration on Monday arranged a Tomtom race on the occasion of Independence and National Day at Rajshahi Madrasa field.
Three Tomtom took part in the competition.
In the competition Abdus Sattar’s Tomtom secured the first place while Abdul Khalek and Tajibur secured second and third place respectively.
Deputy Commissioner SM Abdul Kader chaired the program where Divisional Commissioner Noor Ur Rahman spoke as the chief guest.
