A motorcycle rider was killed in road accident at Kalitola area of Puthia upazila in Rajshahi on Saturday noon.
The deceased was identified as Sharif, 30, son of Jamal Uddin of Pirgachha village of the upazilla.
Eyewitnesses said, on Saturday noon, Sharif was going to Jhalmalia Bazaar on a motorcycle. On the way, a goods-laden truck ran over him, leaving him dead.
Local people detained the truck but the truck driver and his assistant fled the scene.
Officer-in-charge of Puthia police station Sayedur Rahman Bhuiyan confirmed the matter.
