A group of students of Latif Hall of Rajshahi University (RU) vandalised different some washing basins and other furniture and locked the main gate of the hall, demanding reshuffle of hall management.
The students vandalised the furniture including basins, tables, chairs at around 1:30 pm following an alteration with dining official and later, they blocked main entrance of the hall.
The hall provost and RU proctor rushed to the spot and pacified them with assurance of reforming the hall management committee. Students submitted a memorandum to hall provost with the presence of university proctor at the provost office.
Residents of the hall alleged that they found fly in the meal during lunch on Saturday. The hall dining room is so unhygienic. They had been demanding reform of the hall management since long time but in vain.
Latif Hall provost Professor Dr Bipul Kumar Biswas said, “Students submitted a memorandum over different allegations. I would try my best to solve the problems as soon as possible”.
