Body recovered from rice field

Police recovered a body from a rice field at Syedpur area of Rishikular Union under Godagari Upazila in Rajshahi at around 2pm on Tuesday.

The deceased was identified as Abdul Bari Bakul, 48, son of late Mustakim of Matikata Union of the upazila.

Police and locals sources said Bakul lived in a khaas land with wife and two daughters. According to family sources, Bakul went to sell bamboo made broom at around 6am and did not return.

Godagari police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Altab Hossen confirmed the matter and said police recovered the body after being informed by locals.

An unnatural death case has been filed in this regard.

The body was handed over to the family as there was no complaint from the family, OC added.
