Lightning kills one

A mango orchard guard was killed and his son injured by lightning strikes at Shitolay village in Paba upazilla of Rajshahi on Wednesday noon.

The deceased was identified as Mojahar Hossain, 60.

Injured Farooque Hossain, 28, was rushed to Paba Health Complex.

Paba UNO Alamgir Kabir said Mojahar and Farooque were guarding a mango orchard when thunderbolt hit them during heavy rain, leaving
Mojahar died on the spot and injured his son.

According to the weather office, 22 mm rainfall has been recorded in Rajshahi on Wednesday.
