A police constable was killed and another injured in a road accident in Charghat of Rajshahi early Thursday.
Deceased Khademul Islam, 35, was the son of Nefazuddin of Borna Chatmohor village in Pabna.
Charghat Model police OC Nazrul Islam said a truck ran over constables Khademul and Abdul Quddus, 32, while discharging their duties at a check-post in Shishutala crossing at about 2am, leaving Khademul dead on the spot.
Injured Abdul Quddus was admitted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.
Police, however, seized the truck, but, its driver managed to flee.
