
Two people were killed in separate road accidents in Rajshahi. Two accidents occurred in Kashiadanga and Baneshwar.
Officer-in-charge of Kashiadanga Police Station, Rabiul Islam, said a truck ran over an old man, Abul Kalam, while he was moving towards the city by bicycle on Rajshahi-Chapainawabganj Highway in Kashiadanga area of Rajshahi around 9:30 am on Friday.
Deceased Abul Kalam is the resident of Pashchim Para village of Paba upazila.
Later, a speeding truck collided with another truck at Baneshwar Bazar area of Puthia upazila around 3:30 am on Friday, said Shibpur Highway Police Post officer-in-charge Mostafizur Rahman.
A mango seed businessman was killed on the spot. The driver and helper managed to flee the spot, police added.
The deceased was identified as Nasir Uddin, 40, son of Sadiqul Islam, a resident of Rasunachak village in Shibganj upazila of Chapainawabganj district.
