A fire broke out following a gas line explosion in a house at Kadirganj area of Rajshahi city at around 11pm on Saturday.
Firefighters brought the fire under control after receiving the news. Fire fighters suspected that the gas pipeline exploded in a lightning strike.
The owner of the house, Israel Mia said another blast was heard soon after the thunderbolt sound, and a fire broke out in the house immediately.
Farhad Hossain, senior station officer of Rajshahi Fire Service, said that there was a thunderstorm on the gas pipe of the house. The fire originated in the explosion of riser of the pipe. The fire was brought under control by the two units of fire brigade department.
