Festive mood prevails at the city's Iftar hub of Saheb Bazar during the holy month of Ramadan. As soon as the evening arrives, the crowd of buyers begins to gather at the Iftar shops at Saheb Bazar, Laxmipur, New Market, Upashahar, Bhadra Abashik, Talaimari, Kajla, Binodpur, Alupotti bend areas.
Meanwhile, iftar shops in Shahb Bazar area were seen in the new design. Iftar shops spread from Zero Point to Manichattar and Ganakpara area.
Rahmania Biryani and Kabaab restaurant, located in Saheb Bazar Gonak Para, has been operating the restaurant business for many years. They have special arrangements for every year’s iftar item.
One of them is 'chicken Shik Kabab' and 'Shahi Firni'. Rahamania restaurant sells per piece Shik Kabab at 30 taka.
However, despite all these items, one of the main iftar item chickpea and parched rice. Along with the accompanying food there is fruit. Among the fruit, there is banana, papaya, dates, apples, and malta. But now there are more demand for watermelon and litchi as seasonal fruits. Meanwhile, mango can arrive in the market within two weeks. The recipients are now waiting for this mango.
Parveen Nahar, an iftar buyer of Upashahar area, said normally she makes iftar at home but she is to buy some fruits and there are some foods that she bought from outside such as zilapi, chop, bundia. She wants fresh food and fruits in the month of Ramadan and also in whole year.
This year, the prices of these foods, which are sold as iftar are, Tehri 60 taka, Saslik 40, Crispy Chicken 40, Sami Kabab 15, Beef Shik Kabab 40, Chicken Shib kabab 30, Kathi Kabab 20, Shahi Peyaju 5, Beguni 5, Halim 40 to 60, Zilpi 12 and bundia are sold as 20 taka.
Apart from this, different restaurants have kept iftar package items which are arranged with a few items.
