A school girl has committed suicide taking poison at Fulbari Maddhopara village of Puthia upazila in Rajshahi on Saturday noon.
The deceased was Ayesha Khatun, 14, daughter of Munser Ali of Fulbari, who was a student of class 9.
Shakil Uddin Ahmed, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Puthia police station, said Ayesha drank poison on Saturday noon. Her family took her to Puthia health complex, later she was sent to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH). Ayesha died on way to RMCH.
Later, Police brought the dead body to Puthia police station. The dead body will be sent to RMCH for autopsy, OC added.
