Formalin-treated mangoes destroyed in Rajshahi
A mango grower was detained while he was contaminating mangoes with formalin at Mougasi union of Mohonpur upazila in Rajshahi on Wednesday morning.
The detainee was identified as Abul Kalam, a resident of Nouhata Paba area of the district.
On the basis of secret news, Mohonpur police station ASI Masud Iqbal and Sumon Mondol conducted the drive and arrested Abul Kalam with chemical.
Later, in the mobile court led by acting magistrate and assistant commissioner (land) Mirza Imam Uddin fined Abul Kalam 5 thousand taka.
About 10 maund of formalin-laced mangoes were also destroyed there. AIMD
