Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) members arrested a top terror and narcotics businessman in Rajshahi Guripara area at around 2pm on Thursday.
The arrestee was identified as Bakhtiyar Rana alias Ranglal, 35, son of late Jhokor Shekhar of the area.
RAB-5 mobile court director Shaheen said that after arresting him from his house on Thursday, a mobile court sentenced him to two years in jail and sent him directly to jail custody.
According to RAB-5 sources, Ranglal was a top terror of Guripara area of Rajshahi city. There are cases against him in connection with terrorist attack on police, drug case, and murder with different police station.
Officer-in-Charge of Kashiadanga Police Station Rabiul Islam said that the entire family of Ranglal was involved in the drug trade.
There are multiple allegations of terrorist activities against his family. On Monday, Ranglal's younger sister Roji Begum was sentenced to six months jail by mobile court after being arrested with 44 pieces yaba.
Further, Hasan Ali, Alamgir, Hira Begum both the siblings of Ranglal are the top drug dealers of Guripara area. They all are on the run. Drive is continued to arrest them, OC added.
