Villagers of Haridevpur under Tanore municipal area of Rajshahi built a 100-meter long drain.

Due to the absent of this drainage for the last 10 years, the villagers had suffered a lot. The municipality authorities did not take any action in this regard. So the villagers have constructed it with their own effort.

In this situation, villagers together started digging the drain at their own cost. The construction of the drain of about 100 meters concluded on Friday. Locals said water of 20 tube wells of the village collected in the pit.

The organizers of the drain construction volunteers said that this arrangement has been taken into consideration for the woes of the people of the area. However, the private research firm 'Barcik' gave them support.

Meanwhile, Upazila Executive Officer Shawkat Ali also came to see the construction of the drain. Shawkat Ali said, “This is a great initiative of villagers. They did their own work and this is a beautiful example of solving problems by involving its own community.”

He also suggested solving the trivial problems of the village themselves in the future like such voluntarily work.
