This year's minimum Fitra has been fixed at Tk 55 for Rajshahi city and the adjacent area while the maximum has been recommended Tk 1,166 per head.
The decision was taken at a meeting held at Jamia Islamia Shah Makhdum Madrasa at Dargapara area, after the Maghrib prayers on Wednesday.
In the local market of Rajshahi, Fitra can be given at the equivalent amount of the price of minimum 3.3 kg wheat or maximum 3.3 kg raisin.
According to Islamic tradition, Fitra is required of every well-off Muslim, whether male or female, minor or adult as long as he/she or his/her guardian has the means to do so.
The meeting was presided over by Rajshahi Additional District Administrator Md. Salahuddin.
