A protest rally was held in Rajshahi city demanding release and treatment of former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia and return of BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman at around 11am on Thursday.
The rally, held in front of the party's local office in Malopara, was presided over by city BNP President and Rajshahi mayor Mosaddek Hossain Bulbul, and the chief speaker was Khaleda's adviser Mizanur Rahman Minu.
Speakers at the meeting said the country's notorious murderers, terrorists are being released and going out of the country while a former prime minister of the country is being imprisoned day after day.
City BNP General Secretary Advocate Shafiqur Haque Milon was the special speaker of the programme where city Jubo Dal President Sweet, General Secretary Riton, district Jubo Dal President Sumon and leaders of local associate organizations of BNP were also present.
