At least 9 people were injured and a house was vandalized in a clash between two groups over a land dispute around 10am on Thursday at Fatepur Bisha village of Bagha upazila in Rajshahi.

The injured were rushed to the upazila health complex. Among them, retired army officer Malik was sent to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital for better treatment.

According to the local people, there was a conflict over the ownership of a land between Abdul Malek, son of late Chain Pramanik, and Ansar Ali, son of Amir Ali. On Thursday morning, the clash ensued between them and 9 people on both sides were injured.

Usha Union Parishad Chairman Shafiqur Rahman said Abdul Malek and Anseer Ali are each other's cousin. The conflict has been going on for about 15 years. There are several court orders in this regard too. One party does not accept another party’s judgments.

Bagha police sub-inspector Shahida Begum said, “We came to the scene and managed to control the situation. But no one complained about this.”
